How It Works

The Butterscotch Grove May The Fourth Be With You Costume Contest is a celebration of all things Star Wars, as well as, our new Star Wars-themed products. All entries should represent a character or element from the Star Wars universe and highlight at least one Butterscotch Grove product and/or our store. To enter the contest, post a picture or video of yourself in costume on social media enjoying one of our new Star Wars-themed products, tagging Butterscotch Grove in the post. Don’t forget to tag us, linking to us on social media, or we may not see your entry. Participants are eligible for the prizes listed below. 

Categories

All entries are judged on the overall appearance and creativity of their costume, as well as, the incorporation of Butterscotch Grove products in their post.

The Prizes

Category Winners

• • 1st Place: Free Cupcakes for a Year – The 1st place winner of each category will receive 1 free cupcake per week for 1 year (52 cupcakes total).
  • 2nd Place: $100 Gift Card – One (1) $100 Butterscotch Grove gift card. 

• • 3rd Place: Free 12-pack of Cupcakes – Certificate for one (1) Free Cupcake 12-pack.

Grand Prize Winner

• • GRAND PRIZE: Tickets to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – One (1) Grand prize winner will be selected from all the entries and will receive two (2), Disneyland 3-Day Tickets with Admission to 1 Park per Day. So they can experience Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Hotel and airfare are not included. Some restrictions apply. -OR- the winner can choose to receive a Butterscotch Grove gift card for an equivalent dollar amount ($720.00). 

Eligibility

• Entries must be posted from your active personal social media account on at least one of the eligible social media platforms between 9:00am (MST) Monday, April 24th 2023 – 11:59pm Thursday, May 4th 2023. Eligible Social Media platforms include Instagram, TicTok, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.
• You must tag Butterscotch Grove and/or link to our page in your social media post to be entered into the contest.

• If you are under the age of 13, you must have your parent or guardian’s permission to enter.
• When you visit the store or post a photo for this contest, you agree to read and abide by all rules as posted. If you don’t, we may have to disqualify you. 
• We reserve the right to refuse entry or participation to anyone for any reason. We also reserve the right not to explain it to you if you are being difficult.
• By submitting a post you agree to allow Butterscotch Grove to use your post, text, and photos in future social media posts and other advertising. 

Rules

• This contest is family-friendly. Severely offensive language and overt sexual humor is not cool. Be clever, not crass. Judgment on the appropriateness of material is left to the discretion of our staff.
• All costumes entered must adhere to the cosplay, COSTUME, AND DRESS POLICY. If your costume does not meet these criteria, you may be asked to leave. 
• Be respectful to other entrants and the staff. Unruly or disruptive behavior is not permitted, and entrants associated with this behavior will be disqualified and required to leave.
• Judges are not permitted to discuss the judging process or the results. 
• Entrants must be able to enter and exit the store on their own without blocking entrances and exits or disturbing other guests.
• Group entries are allowed. Entrants may not participate in multiple groups. 
• Progress portfolios are HIGHLY encouraged as they include photo documentation of your work from start to finish.
• Professional cosplayers ARE WELCOME to enter. A professional cosplayer is anyone who makes a significant portion of their income from costume design, construction or sales or feels they are a master of their craft.
